The general contractor for this project is the Chinese company CNEEC (China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd.).
Preparatory work on both units has already begun. It is expected that the reconstruction of hydro unit No. 2 will start on February 1, and No. 1 will begin on March 1 of this year.




According to the company, welding of the stator rods for hydro unit No. 2 is currently underway, as well as the assembly of the rotor spokes with defectoscopic control being conducted. At the same time, project and technical preparation for hydro unit No. 1 continues.
All work will be carried out according to the approved schedule and in compliance with all technical standards and safety requirements, the company promises.
The parallel reconstruction will allow for a phased increase in the installed capacity of the station. As a result of the modernization, completed in 2025, the capacity of the Uch-Kurgan HPP was increased by 18 MW, and by the end of 2026, the total increase will amount to 36 MW.
