According to Kazakov, approximately 2,300 veterinarians are needed in the livestock sector, but currently, their number is only 1,200.

He also noted that as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, the number of rural administrations has decreased from 400 to 235, and only in 192 of them are there veterinary specialists. In the other administrations, veterinary services are provided by private veterinarians who are engaged to carry out activities such as animal vaccination.
