The year 2025 was a landmark for Turkey in the field of tourism, as announced at a press conference in Istanbul. The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the country, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, presented impressive results for the year.
According to the data presented at the event, in 2025, Turkey was visited by 64 million foreign tourists. The total income from the tourism sector amounted to 65 billion 231 million dollars, which is a record for the country.
Ersoy noted that Turkey has significantly strengthened its position in the global tourism market. While in 2017 the country was at a lower level, it is now among the leading tourist destinations. For 2026, the minister set a tourism revenue target of 68 billion dollars.
Moreover, it was emphasized that tourism in Turkey is developing not only in the format of "sun, sea, beach." The country is actively developing cultural and religious tourism, ecological and nature tourism, archaeological routes, medical tourism, gastronomy, congress and exhibition activities, as well as cruise and winter tourism.
Among the successful initiatives are the projects "Heritage for the Future" and "Night Museums", which contributed to the preservation and popularization of cultural heritage on the international stage.
There is also a positive trend in the Kyrgyzstan market.
In 2025, the number of tourists from Kyrgyzstan visiting Turkey increased by 8% compared to 2024, amounting to 199,280 people. This confirms the growing interest of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey as one of the most attractive countries for travel.
