Starting from March 24, the price for one ton of gasoline will rise by 1,160 yuan (approximately $168), while the cost of diesel fuel will increase by 1,115 yuan (about $161).
Depending on the sales location, a ton of gasoline will cost between 10,415 and 10,855 yuan (from $1,509 to $1,573), and diesel fuel will range from 9,460 to 9,800 yuan (from $1,371 to $1,420).
According to the existing fuel price regulation policy in China, if global oil prices change by more than 50 yuan per ton and this persists for 10 working days, then gasoline and diesel prices are adjusted. The differences in fuel costs across different regions of the country are explained by local subsidies. The highest prices are traditionally observed in Chengdu, while the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has the lowest prices.
The previous price adjustment was made on March 10.
