Compared to the same period in 2025, production decreased by 508.1 million kWh, which corresponds to a reduction of 13.6%.
In September 2025, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev noted that the upcoming winter would be the most difficult for the country.
In this regard, since then, active measures to save electricity have begun in the republic.
By mid-November 2025, the government adopted a number of measures:
- prohibited the use of outdoor lighting in government and administrative institutions in the evening;
- restricted electricity use in educational institutions after 6:00 PM;
- introduced a new limit for the population - up to 3 kW, forcing residents to choose between using a washing machine and an electric kettle;
- suspended the operation of mining farms until the end of March 2026;
- the Bishkek city hall announced that in cafes, restaurants, and nightclubs, all electrical appliances, especially those that consume a lot of energy, must be turned off after 10:00 PM, although this requirement was later softened;
- the president ordered a reduction in electricity imports.
