According to the adopted resolution, limitations on macroeconomic indicators are now officially established:
- The budget deficit must not exceed 3% of the gross domestic product (GDP);
- The limit on state debt is no more than 70% of GDP.
These regulations will be applied when preparing the budget for the next year and for the planning period.
The aim of the changes is to enhance discipline in budgetary matters and to impose stricter control over the state's debt burden.
The new rules will come into effect in seven days.
