The Central Election Commission (CEC) reported the imposition of fines totaling over 700,000 soms following the review of 189 complaints. CEC member Abdyjapar Bekmatov announced this at a press conference.
Of the 189 submitted statements, 124 were initiated as a result of monitoring conducted by a working group, while 65 were based on complaints from participants in the electoral process. Necessary measures were taken at meetings to address the identified violations.
Bekmatov noted that measures were taken against 39 candidates, including 4 warnings and fines of 7,500 soms. Additionally, 27 violations were recorded concerning both candidates and their agents and campaigners, who did not comply with election rules and deadlines, as well as disseminated false information that tarnished the candidates' honor. Legal sanctions were applied to them.Furthermore, he added that fines also affected 7 legal entities, including media outlets and advertising agencies.
“To date, the total amount of fines imposed has exceeded 700,000 soms. The working group continues its activities, and complaints regarding violations on the day of silence, vote buying, and other grievances are still being received,” Bekmatov concluded.
