Since the announcement of early elections for the Jogorku Kenesh, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has registered 256 reports of various offenses. This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sultan Makilov, at a briefing.
Out of this number, criminal cases have been initiated in 9 instances under Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to vote buying. In Bishkek, 5 cases have been opened, while 2 criminal cases have been initiated in both Chui and Jalal-Abad regions.
Additionally, 12 citizens have been charged, and investigative actions are currently underway.
