According to the investigation materials, close relatives of the candidate for the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic — A.L. — are involved in the organization of the bribery. In particular, this includes his daughter, Saltanat Ismanova (born in 1988), and his nephew, Shaabidin Toktosartov (born in 1998).
The police noted that facts of the transfer of 360,000 soms for the purpose of vote bribing were recorded.
“These funds were transferred at the election headquarters of A.L. by Saltanat Ismanova and Shaabidin Toktosartov. After receiving the money, the relatives provided instructions and guidance on organizing the scheme for bribing voters and received lists of voters,” the Main Internal Affairs Directorate reported.
Charges have been brought against the candidate's relatives in absentia under Article 196 (“Bribery of Voters”) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. They have also been placed under a preventive measure of detention, and they have been declared wanted.
