In the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, the VI meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan took place. This event is covered by the information policy service of the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Kyrgyz delegation was led by Bakyt Töröbaev, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov.

While discussing cooperation issues, the parties noted the importance of fulfilling previously set tasks and goals voiced by the heads of state. Both sides expressed interest in strengthening strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, economy, investment, transport, energy, industry, agriculture, and culture.

The participants of the meeting emphasized the need to increase mutual trade turnover and diversify the structure of bilateral trade.

Decisions were made to enhance active interaction between the business communities of both countries, increase direct supplies of agricultural and industrial products, and develop cooperation in the field of raw material processing and joint entry into third-country markets.

The parties underscored the significance of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund as a key financial instrument for supporting joint projects. Plans were also discussed to increase the fund's capital and implement the first phases of projects in areas such as energy, housing construction, light industry, and healthcare. An agreement was reached on the necessity of forming a new project portfolio covering the areas of energy, industry, infrastructure, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In the transport and logistics sector, measures were considered to unlock the transit potential of both countries, including the development of multimodal routes and logistics infrastructure to ensure effective cargo delivery between Central Asia, the Caucasus, and other regions.

In the humanitarian field, the parties agreed to expand cooperation between the scientific centers of universities, support academic exchanges, implement joint cultural events and youth programs, and develop tourism projects. The importance of recreational facilities and memorial complexes reflecting the common historical and spiritual values of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was particularly emphasized.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission signed the protocol of the VI meeting.

In conclusion, the parties expressed hope that the agreements reached would serve as a solid foundation for preparing future high-level events and elevate Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations to a new level.
