According to U.Sh.B., last Friday he came across an advertisement on social media for a car being sold at an attractive price. After contacting the alleged owner, he learned that in order to reserve the car, he needed to make a deposit. Without thinking twice, he transferred the money and set off. During the trip, they kept in touch, but as soon as U.Sh.B. crossed the pass, the connection suddenly disappeared. Later, trying to call from another number, he heard ringing, but no one picked up, and calls from his phone did not go through.
A week later, on December 23, he stumbled upon another advertisement on one of the social networks: this time a "Volkswagen Passat" was being offered at a low price. U.Sh.B. contacted the person who introduced himself as the owner, and he asked for a 10,000 som advance. Despite his previous experience, he informed the interlocutor about what had happened the week before. The latter replied that there were indeed many fraudsters nowadays and suggested conducting a video call to confirm his identity. During the conversation, U.Sh.B. took a screenshot of the image, which gave him more confidence. He transferred 2,000 soms and left Tokmok for Belovodskoye, hiring a taxi. However, on the way, the "seller" stopped answering calls.
U.Sh.B. did not file a report with the police, as many of his acquaintances had faced similar situations, but in the end, the fraudsters were never found. Therefore, he decided not to contact law enforcement.
