A presentation of the analytical review titled "Youth in the Kyrgyz Republic" took place in Bishkek. This review was prepared based on data from the population and housing census conducted in 2022.

This review analyzes the situation of youth aged 14 to 35, who make up 35% of the total population of the country (2.416 million people), and aims to create a solid foundation for the development of effective youth, social, and economic policies.

The document covers an assessment of demographic trends, an analysis of the socio-economic situation of youth, as well as the identification of key challenges and recommendations for the effective use of the demographic dividend in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. Attention is given to issues of education, employment, family policy, and the situation of vulnerable groups of the population.

The results of the 2022 census show that Kyrgyzstan has a unique opportunity: the largest generation of educated youth has reached productive age. However, the lack of timely actions in the next 5–7 years may lead to the loss of this demographic dividend and an increase in migration and social tension.

During the discussion, participants highlighted a number of key issues faced by youth, such as a lack of opportunities for decent employment, a mismatch between skills and labor market demands, unequal access to quality education and healthcare services, as well as the vulnerability of certain youth groups.

As solutions, measures were proposed to develop employment and vocational training programs, expand opportunities for youth entrepreneurship, and strengthen intersectoral cooperation.

As part of the event, a foresight session titled "The Future of Generations in Kyrgyzstan" was held, where, during an intergenerational dialogue, participants, including representatives of government structures, experts, civil society, and various generations, discussed scenarios for the socio-economic and demographic development of Kyrgyzstan over the next 5–20 years, as well as identifying priority steps that need to be implemented now.

The event was organized by the public organization "Resource Center for the Elderly" with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Kyrgyzstan.
