On January 12, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, chaired by Minister Kanybek Dosmambetov, where the results of the inspection of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy named after M. Mirrahimov (NCKiT) and the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation (NIIHSiTO) were announced. Against the backdrop of alarming data on high mortality from cardiovascular diseases, the heads of these institutions were relieved of their duties.

The inspection revealed serious shortcomings in the work of NCKiT, in particular, there were recorded downtimes of angiographic equipment, delays in conducting coronary angiographies, and the absence of round-the-clock echocardiography in the intensive care units. The Ministry noted that insufficient organization of patient routing and the lack of interdisciplinary consultations negatively affect the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome, despite the availability of necessary technical resources for performing primary percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI).

The Minister expressed serious concern about the situation: "When equipment is idle, processes are disorganized, and mortality is rising - this is not a matter of technology, but of attitude towards the work. And this is on your conscience," he emphasized, dissatisfied with the performance of the heads of the institutions.

As a result of the meeting, the minister instructed to equip NIIHSiTO with the necessary equipment as soon as possible, and for NCKiT to ensure round-the-clock echocardiography in the intensive care units and to follow clinical protocols when using angiographic devices. In response to the identified violations, the heads of both centers voluntarily resigned.

Samidin Shabyraliev and his deputy.
According to the Ministry of Health, young but experienced specialists will be nominated for the vacant positions, including those with experience working abroad. The Ministry will continue activities aimed at reducing mortality from cardiovascular diseases, improving the work of cardiology services, and effectively using state resources.
