At the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation (NIIHSTO), one of the most complex operations was successfully completed, saving the life of a 15-year-old boy suffering from a serious vascular pathology. The press service of the Ministry of Health reported this medical achievement.

On October 29, 2025, the team of surgeons at NIIHSTO performed a high-tech intervention for the prosthetics of the abdominal aorta and its branches. The operation was lengthy and technically complex, but it was completed successfully. The patient spent two days in intensive care, after which he was transferred to a general ward. His condition is currently assessed as satisfactory, and he is preparing for discharge, as reported by the Ministry of Health.

Experts emphasize that such operations in Kyrgyzstan are performed only at NIIHSTO, which holds a leading position in the field of cardiovascular surgery.

According to Bekbolot uulu Nurbolot, a freelance pediatric cardiac surgeon at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the chief physician for medical work at NIIHSTO, the successful completion of this extremely complex operation was made possible by the coordinated work of the team and the high level of equipment at the institute. He also noted that surgeries for children under six years old, children from low-income families, and orphans are performed free of charge. "We are glad that the condition of our little patient has stabilized and wish him a speedy recovery," he added.
