In Osh, on A. Navoi Street, the demolition of a four-story building has begun, which reportedly belongs to the former vice-mayor of the city.

According to Zhyldyzbek Bolotbekov, head of the press service of the mayor's office, the demolition of the building is being carried out by its owners, as it is located in the protected zone of the Ak-Buura River.

According to previously published data by Turmush, on January 27, 2026, the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, ordered the demolition of the building, which was constructed without adhering to regulations in the protected zone of the Ak-Buura River. This information was confirmed by the press service of the mayor's office.

During a morning raid on January 27, the mayor, along with representatives of the relevant services, inspected the building on Tileke Baatyr Street, which belongs to the former vice-mayor and now auditor of the Accounts Chamber, Alimzhan Baigazakov.

The building was illegally constructed on the site of an old bus station and within the protected zone of the river. Despite numerous warnings about the necessity of demolition, this requirement has not been fulfilled to date.

In connection with the above, the mayor ordered the demolition of this building, as well as the removal of nearby facilities, including the unused bus station No. 1.

It is worth noting that earlier, by the mayor's directive, the "Kristall" hotel building, located near this construction site, was demolished.

Turmush reported that on December 15, 2025, the demolition of the "Kristall" hotel was almost 90% complete.

The main part of the building has already been destroyed, and work on clearing the construction debris continues. The walls, roof, and internal structures of the hotel have been effectively dismantled, and heavy machinery is currently working on site.

According to current regulations, the protected zone for rivers ranges from 6 to 50 meters. For example, for the Moyun, Zhany-Aryk, and Zhoo-Bas canals — 6 meters, for the Ak-Buura River — 50 meters, and for the Uvam canal — 30 meters on each side.
