
On March 21, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, participated in the celebrations dedicated to the Nowruz holiday in the central square of the city of Naryn.
In his congratulatory message, which can be translated as follows, he said: “Dear compatriots! Esteemed Kyrgyz citizens, whose pride is as high as the peaks of Tеңир-Тоо! With the arrival of spring, when nature awakens, we joyfully celebrate Nowruz – a symbol of renewal, hope, and unity, which is an important part of our cultural heritage.”
The President also quoted the wise words of the akyn Arstanbek ata: “With the people, you are high; without the people, you are like a wild creature.” He emphasized the importance of jointly celebrating state holidays and noted that this year, Nowruz is celebrated in Naryn, at the foot of the sacred mountain Ala-Myshyk, on the banks of the Naryn River, vital for Central Asia.
“In this blessed land, where the air is filled with the aroma of kumys, I wish my people peace, prosperity, and unity. I congratulate all Kyrgyz citizens, as well as foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations, on the holiday of Nowruz!” – Japarov added.
Discussing the history of the Naryn region, the president noted that this region, located on the Great Silk Road, has a rich heritage. Monuments such as the Teke-Sekirik cave and the ruins of the city of Koshoy-Korgon testify to the ancient history of this land.
He also recalled the outstanding individuals born in this land and expressed confidence that Naryn will continue to nurture new creators and leaders. “The people of Naryn, with their rich heritage, are capable of making a significant contribution to the development of the country,” the president noted.
Speaking about the achievements of the last five years, Japarov emphasized that stability has been established in Kyrgyzstan and the path to development has begun. The gross regional product of the Naryn region has increased from 18 billion soms in 2020 to 40 billion soms in 2025, representing a 224 percent increase.
The volume of industrial production has also significantly increased, and the number of newly opened enterprises has grown from 30 to 134. Numerous projects are being implemented in areas such as construction and infrastructure, totaling 21 billion soms.
The president noted that this year, 51 social facilities, including schools and hospitals, have been put into operation, and over the past five years, 259 kilometers of roads have been paved.
Since 2022, 0.6 percent of the gross profit from the Kumtor gold mine has been directed to the “Tеңир-Тоо” Development Fund, which has accumulated about 2 billion soms to implement social and infrastructure projects in the region.
“The Naryn region, known for its energy potential, is now actively developing hydroelectric power stations, which will strengthen the energy security of the region. The construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway will also open new transit opportunities,” the president added.
Japarov emphasized that the development of railway infrastructure will contribute to the growth of other sectors of the economy, such as industry and agriculture.
“The Naryn region requires attention, as livestock farming is the foundation of its economy. In recent years, there has been an increase in livestock numbers and production volumes,” he noted, adding that projects are being implemented to create clusters in meat and dairy production.
The president also mentioned the irrigation issues that have been resolved over the past five years and the plans to improve water supply.
“Our goal is to turn Naryn into a powerful agro-industrial center by developing processing and export. We are ready to support specialists capable of advancing agriculture,” he added.
Japarov expressed hope that through joint efforts, Naryn will become a region with new transit connections on the Great Silk Road. In conclusion, he wished all Kyrgyz citizens prosperity and success in their work and emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion in achieving goals.
