On the day the agricultural census began, Baktybek Kudaybergenov, head of the National Statistics Committee, participated in the opening ceremony. He also visited several settlements to check on how the enumerators were conducting their work. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
During the field activities, the head of the agency was able to observe the data collection process, assess the organization of the enumerators' work, and communicate with local residents and enumerators. Kudaybergenov emphasized the importance of the quality of the surveys and the readiness of respondents to participate in the census. According to him, the population demonstrates a high level of understanding and responsibility regarding this campaign, showing interest in its outcomes.

The chairman of the National Statistics Committee also highlighted how important the census is for creating effective state policy, developing agriculture, and ensuring food security.
“Data collection as part of the agricultural census will provide a comprehensive understanding of the state of the agricultural sector, including information on land use, the number of livestock, the structure of agricultural producers, and the technologies used. This data will serve as the basis for strategic decisions at the state level,” he noted.

As stated in the message from the National Statistics Committee, the census will cover all regions of the country and will take place from March 20 to April 10 of this year. The information collection involves specially trained enumerators using modern digital tools for personal interviews.

The National Statistics Committee urges all farmers, agricultural producers, and households to actively participate in the census and provide accurate data, which will ensure high quality of the final statistics.
The conduct of the agricultural census is carried out in accordance with international standards and represents an important step towards the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan.
