Today, a coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation for the agricultural census took place in Bishkek, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Representatives from the ministry and the National Statistical Committee, as well as district agricultural development offices, participated in the discussion via videoconference.
The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, opened the meeting. A direct connection with the districts was organized online, where participants presented reports on the progress of the preparatory activities.
During the discussion, representatives from the districts reported that necessary organizational work is already underway for the successful conduct of the census. They expressed confidence that the campaign would be carried out efficiently and on time.
The Minister emphasized the importance of systematizing and clarifying data in agriculture. According to him, the census will help obtain accurate information about the state of the industry, the number of breeding livestock, and will serve as a basis for further state policy in this area.
Additionally, during the meeting, emphasis was placed on the need to collect data on breeding livestock in electronic form with corresponding photographic materials, as well as to form a complete list of breeding stock and clarify information.
There was also a task set to clarify information about lands of the state land fund that are temporarily allocated for agricultural needs, and to provide lists of tenants to regional and district statistical authorities.
An important aspect of organizing the census will be the use of digital platforms. Data collection will be carried out through the platform of the National Statistical Committee. In this regard, training events are planned for local authorities, where the procedure for filling out data will be explained.
It should be noted that the agricultural census will take place from March 20 to April 10, over a period of 20 days. Responsible employees will be involved in each district and village to ensure the necessary activities are carried out.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Erlis Akunbekov gave specific instructions to state authorities and territorial structures, consisting of seven points aimed at ensuring the quality and timely conduct of the census work.
He also urged citizens to approach this event with understanding, emphasizing that the agricultural census will not affect the social rights of citizens. The Minister noted that such censuses are an international practice and are conducted in many countries around the world.
