According to the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, in 2025, 36,299 children underwent examination and treatment in short-term (daytime) care departments in hospitals across the country. These activities were conducted both on a planned and emergency basis as part of the state guarantee program.

Of the total number of patients, 64% were children under 6 years old, among whom 11% were infants under one year.

The introduction of short-term care practices significantly reduces psychological stress for both young patients and their families. It also decreases the likelihood of hospital-acquired infections and allows for quick management of acute conditions, providing subsequent treatment recommendations. This model optimizes the use of budgetary funds and preserves hospital resources for cases with severe pathologies requiring emergency medical assistance, as stated in the report.
