In 2025, there were 141 cases of infant mortality and 10 cases of maternal mortality in the Chuy Region.

The Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Chuy Region, Gulmira Kyshtobaeva, reported that in 2025, the number of infant mortality cases in the region was 141, which is 24 fewer compared to 2024.

These data were presented at a board meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the region for 2026, where Kyshtobaeva reported on the results of the social block for the past year.

Statistics show that the main causes of infant deaths include:

- perinatal pathology — 76 cases,

- respiratory diseases — 22 cases,

- congenital anomalies — 18 cases,

- other causes — 16 cases,

- infectious diseases — 9 cases.

In addition, in 2025, there were 10 cases of maternal mortality registered, which is an increase compared to 8 cases in 2024, noted Kyshtobaeva.

As of 2025, the population served by medical institutions in the Chuy Region is 936,811 people, while in 2024 this figure was 1,054,072.

There are 1,115 doctors and 3,103 medical workers with secondary education working in the region.

As reported by the deputy, 157 new specialists were attracted to the healthcare system over the year:

• 13 residents and 14 interns, who receive a monthly scholarship of 20,000 soms;

• 13 doctors receiving a medical deposit of 66,000 soms;

• 117 specialists, such as pediatricians, neonatologists, general surgeons, and anesthesiologists-resuscitators, who receive monthly compensation payments of 20,000 soms.
