Since the beginning of 2023 and until February 1, 2026, over 2.5 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan have undergone free laboratory testing for viral hepatitis. Deputy Minister of Health Bakytbek Kadyraliev reported this at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee held on February 24.

During the screening, 40,942 cases of hepatitis B, 23,039 cases of hepatitis C, and 1,067 cases of hepatitis D were identified among all those tested.

Citizens with negative test results receive free vaccinations, while those with positive results are referred for treatment at family medicine centers, Kadyraliev added.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Center for Electronic Health, an integrated registry of patients with viral hepatitis has been implemented, which is linked to the electronic outpatient card, and over 260,000 records have been entered into it.
