As of January 1, 2026, 578 people are registered after undergoing liver transplantation. This was reported on February 24 by Bakytbek Kadyraliev, Deputy Minister of Health, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues.

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan registered 8,555 cases of acute viral hepatitis (117.0 per 100,000 population), while during the same period in 2024, the number of cases was 21,195 (293.5 per 100,000). This indicates a 2.4-fold decrease in the overall incidence rate.

The structure of viral hepatitis is as follows:

- Hepatitis A — 8,415 cases (98.6%), among which 90% are children under 14 years old,

- Hepatitis B — 75 cases (0.8%),

- Hepatitis C — 56 cases (0.5%),

- Hepatitis D — 9 cases (0.1%).

Parenteral hepatitis has a chronic nature, which is associated with a high risk of developing cirrhosis and oncological diseases, which also creates a significant economic burden on the healthcare system.
