During a working trip, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Damir Osmonov, visited the Center for General Practitioner Practice in the Kemin District of the Chui Region. Here, he familiarized himself with the state of medical services, current construction projects, and the facility's equipment with modern technology, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
During the visit, the minister checked the construction process of a new maternity hospital designed for 50 beds. This four-story building, with a total area of 2,220 square meters, has already been constructed up to the third floor, where monolithic works are actively ongoing.
The project includes the layout of the first floor with reception and gynecology departments, as well as offices for ultrasound diagnostics and colposcopy. The second floor will house the operating block and two delivery rooms, while the third floor will accommodate the newborn pathology department and the gynecology department with separate sanitary facilities. The issue of equipping the maternity hospital with modern medical inventory is also on the agenda.
Additionally, the minister was informed about the creation of a dormitory for medical workers. The former infectious disease department will be repurposed into a residential dormitory with 8 apartments equipped with necessary amenities. This work is financed by the Kemin District Development Fund in the amount of about 18 million soms, and the total area of the building will be 1,450 square meters. The project aims to improve living conditions for medical staff and address the issue of staff shortages.
Osmonov also visited the clinical diagnostic laboratory of the Center, equipped with modern devices obtained through JICA. The laboratory has biochemical and hematological analyzers, as well as hormone determination devices and centrifuges. All research is integrated into a digital system, allowing for automatic entry of results into the "ILab" system, which displays them in the electronic outpatient card of the patient in the "Sanarip clinic" system.
The minister reviewed the work of the radiology department, which uses both stationary and mobile digital X-ray machines, and also visited the intensive care unit. This unit is equipped with two artificial ventilation machines provided by JICA, as well as bedside monitors purchased with the funds of the medical institution.
During a meeting with the leadership of the Center, existing problems were voiced, including a shortage of medical personnel. Currently, measures are being taken to improve conditions for attracting specialists, including the construction of a dormitory for medical workers.
The minister also reviewed the building of the old maternity hospital, for which a major renovation was previously planned with a budget of about 100 million soms. Following the inspection, the minister instructed to conduct an additional assessment of the building's condition and evaluate the feasibility of repairs.
