In western Germany, in the city of Gelsenkirchen, a bold robbery of the Sparkasse bank took place. According to the newspaper Bild, the criminals stole money and valuables worth about 34 million euros.

According to the publication, the robbery has sparked widespread discussions in the country. "The robbers drilled a huge hole in the wall and went straight into the bank's vault. They took everything they could and disappeared," the report states.

The bank has about 3,300 safes of various sizes, rented by 2,700 clients. Some renters used several safes, each insured for up to 10,300 euros.

Experts estimate that potential insurance payouts could reach 33.9 million euros if all the vaults were filled and robbed, notes Bild.

Since Monday, dissatisfied clients have been gathering at the bank branch — their number exceeds 200 people. They are demanding explanations about what happened and information about possible compensations. However, the bank's management is currently unwilling to communicate with the affected clients. As a result, some clients have started trying to break into the closed lobby themselves. Police are on the scene, attempting to prevent further escalation of the situation.
