During the investigation of the audacious Louvre robbery, French law enforcement authorities have detained a fourth suspect, reports RBC. According to the publication Le Parisien, the detainee is one of the direct participants in this crime.
The arrest took place on Tuesday morning and was carried out by officers from the anti-gang department (BRB). It has been established that this man was already known to the police and, according to the investigation's version, had connections with the three previously detained accomplices.
Thus, the total number of arrests in the Louvre robbery case has risen to four. The information was confirmed by the agency Reuters, citing data from the Paris prosecutor's office. Among the detainees are two men aged 38 and 39, as well as two women aged 31 and 40.
Recall that the robbery occurred on October 19 and lasted only seven minutes. Four criminals, using a cherry picker mounted on a truck, managed to break into the "Apollo" gallery and, using angle grinders, stole jewelry from the French crown collection worth about 88 million euros.
Laurent Nunez, the Minister of the Interior and former head of the Paris police, described the criminals as "very experienced."
