During the New Year holidays, many experience bloating, which is often associated with overeating. However, as reported by RIA Novosti citing The Sun, this symptom can indicate serious illnesses. Dr. Donald Grant, a general practice specialist and senior consultant at The Independent Pharmacy, noted that in women, bloating may be a sign of ovarian cancer, as well as indicating food intolerance or the presence of tumors.

Additionally, according to him, this condition may signal the presence of Crohn's disease or diverticulitis. It is important to pay attention to bloating if it lasts more than two to three weeks.

Experts recommend exercising caution during the holidays, as the consumption of fatty, sweet, and salty foods can negatively affect digestion. They also advise drinking enough water to avoid dehydration, which can be caused by alcohol.

Furthermore, doctors recommend including vegetables in the diet, limiting sweets, maintaining physical activity during the holidays, and using probiotics to improve digestion.
