In anticipation of the New Year, the Bishkek Health Promotion Center reminds residents of the importance of following safe eating practices to avoid health issues during the holidays.
Experts emphasize that during New Year celebrations, it is essential to strictly adhere to the basic principles of food safety. Dishes left at room temperature become an ideal environment for bacteria to thrive.
Here are key tips from the Center:
- do not leave prepared dishes out of the refrigerator for long;
- put away leftovers in the refrigerator immediately after the meal;
- dress salads just before serving — this will help prevent spoilage;
- do not store dishes that have already been touched by utensils;
- food preparation requires the use of clean dishes and separate cutting boards for meat and vegetables;
- do not overeat — this also helps maintain health during the festive days.
- pay attention to labeling and shelf life;
- prefer products in separate packaging instead of ready-made salads;
- choose vacuum-sealed items;
- do not buy products without a date and time of preparation indicated.
