In his address to the heads of state-participants of the EAEU, Tokayev noted that the union must continue to actively develop economic ties with external partners. In particular, he mentioned the signing of free trade agreements with Mongolia and Indonesia in 2025, as well as economic partnership with the United Arab Emirates.

The President emphasized that this is a real achievement of the collective work of the participating countries. "In the future, it is advisable to strengthen the EAEU's relations with countries of the Global South, the Arab world, Southeast Asia, and Africa, alongside interaction with authoritative regional associations," he added.

Tokayev also spoke about the need to eliminate administrative barriers within the EAEU. "A key point is the exclusion of all artificial restrictions that hinder trade and the development of various sectors, including bans on the movement of citizens and queues of freight transport at borders. Customs regulation measures and other forms of state control, such as sanitary and veterinary inspections, should not be used as means of pressure on the governments of the EAEU member states," he stated.

Kazakhstan will begin to chair the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union on January 1, 2026.
