A large batch of expired food products has been eliminated in Bishkek
The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) has halted the activities of a criminal group involved in the import, counterfeiting, and sale of expired products, which were passed off as imported premium goods. The dangerous products discovered, sold through the "Korzinка 312" network and supplied to markets, cafes, and restaurants in Bishkek, were destroyed on November 27, 2025, under the supervision of the GKNB and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The investigation revealed that the company "Korzinка 312," operating in the market for over ten years, had been importing expired products from abroad at reduced prices for the past 5-6 years. These goods were then repackaged and sold as fresh premium products. The founder of this company is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Z.S.N., born in 1988. A criminal case against the firm was opened on June 10, 2025, under articles 279 part 1 and 379 part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the GKNB, the owner of the company collaborated with foreign suppliers, purchasing products designated for disposal and declaring them as exclusive imports. The goods were imported in mixed cargoes, complicating border checks. Expired Italian sauces, cheeses, seafood, delicacies, and oils were supplied to elite establishments in Bishkek.

During searches of warehouses and stores in Bishkek, significant volumes of expired and counterfeit products were found, as well as a laboratory for altering expiration dates, equipment for counterfeiting labels, and documents confirming mass sales through retail chains and online platforms.

After the products were seized, an environmental examination was conducted. The commission from the Ministry of Natural Resources approved the method and location for the destruction of expired goods. The disposal was carried out in compliance with environmental standards: liquid products were neutralized through alkalization, packaging was sent for recycling, and unsorted waste was incinerated or buried at a specialized landfill.

The GKNB emphasized the importance of preventing Kyrgyzstan from becoming a dumping ground for foreign discarded goods. The agency urged entrepreneurs to thoroughly check their suppliers, avoid gray schemes, and demand certificates and documentation, favoring products from conscientious domestic producers.

Consumers were reminded that untimely claims against suppliers could lead to criminal liability for those who knowingly sell dangerous goods under the guise of premium products.
