According to lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov, just 20 minutes after the ombudsman's visit to his client, Temirlan Sultanbekov, he was transferred to a punitive isolation cell (PIT). Toktakunov suggests that this decision may have been prompted by complaints voiced by Sultanbekov during the meeting with the ombudsman.

The lawyer described the horrific conditions in the PIT, claiming that the cell is so small that Sultanbekov has to lie on the concrete floor with his legs and head bent. According to him, since Saturday at 1:00 PM, the detainee has been in complete darkness and has not received proper food or water for three days, which, he claims, is supplied from a tap next to the toilet. Because of this, he is effectively starving.

Nurbek Toktakunov believes that such actions by the administration are a result of the president's recent statements that prisoners must "endure." The lawyer emphasized that no one should have to endure degrading treatment.

Toktakunov also reported that he contacted the ombudsman's office to inform them about the consequences of Sultanbekov's complaints. The office responded that the ombudsman is currently at an event with the head of the pre-trial detention center. The lawyer expressed hope that the information would reach the ombudsman and help change the situation.

"Otherwise, what is the point of contacting the ombudsman if one has to freeze on the concrete floor of a punishment cell?" the lawyer stated.

It is worth noting that on November 23, law enforcement agencies conducted a series of arrests and searches in connection with a case regarding calls for mass riots. A criminal case was initiated after a video featuring Temirlan Sultanbekov surfaced, leading to the start of investigative and operational activities by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As part of this case, several political figures and former officials were arrested or summoned for questioning, including Kadyrbek Atambaev, Shailoobek Atazov, Syimyk Japykeev, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and others. Searches were also conducted at the homes of politicians and journalists, including former First Lady Raisa Atambaev, relatives of Temirlan Sultanbekov, and the family of journalist Dmitry Lozhnikov.

It later became known that some of the detainees, including Temirlan Sultanbekov, Kadyrbek Atambaev, and Shailoobek Atazov, were placed in a temporary detention facility for the selection of a preventive measure, while others, such as Adakhan Madumarov and Syimyk Japykeev, were released after questioning.
