In Moscow, police detained 21-year-old Aina Mankieva, a native of Ingushetia, on suspicion of theft. The girl left home in the spring of 2025, leaving all her belongings and documents behind, after years of abuse. Human rights organizations express concern that she may be returned to her family. This was reported by Forbes.
In the police, Aina accused her relatives of various forms of violence, including sexualized violence. After interrogation, she was not handed over to Ingush law enforcement, and, according to human rights defenders, she was able to leave the precinct, being in relative safety.
Aina is visually impaired and grew up in a large and dysfunctional family. After one incident of violence, she suffered a serious illness and, according to law enforcement, was unable to leave the house for eight months. In April, before her escape, the girl recorded a video message asking not to look for her. According to her, returning home could pose a threat to her safety and health.
