Employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, together with the FSB, prevented an attempt to illegally export 24 sport horses from Russia to Kyrgyzstan. The animals were detained at the Russian-Kazakh border, near the "Sagarchin" checkpoint, Russian media report.
The horses, which were planned to be transported from Kabardino-Balkaria to participate in sporting events, were unable to cross the border of the Orenburg region due to significant violations of veterinary legislation.
In particular, information about the horses was absent in the federal state system "Khorriot." Additionally, the carrier did not carry out the mandatory preventive and anti-epizootic measures necessary to protect against dangerous diseases common to humans and animals.
Inspectors identified an insufficient package of veterinary accompanying documents required for the safe transportation of the horses.
As a result of the inspection, the horses were returned to the place of departure, and administrative penalties were imposed on the carrier.
