In a Norwegian court, hearings have begun in the case of serious charges against Marius Borg Høiby, the son of the Crown Princess of Norway. According to BBC News, he has become the subject of accusations on 38 different counts, including one rape and three instances of violent sexual acts.
29-year-old Høiby, appearing in court, could not hold back his emotions: he took off his glasses and wiped away tears. At the beginning of the proceedings, he claimed that he did not plead guilty to the charge of rape, but admitted partial guilt regarding physical violence against his former girlfriend.
According to the charges, Marius Borg Høiby could face up to 16 years in prison.
