The 32-year-old suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is being conducted by the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek. The 28-year-old resident of the village of Boo-Terek, known as M.T., became a victim of the attack on October 15 of last year. The man, while intoxicated, came home, had a quarrel, and beat her, threatening to kill her. He then doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. The victim of the violence tried to extinguish the flames with water, and her cries for help were heard by passersby who took her to the hospital. Three days after being hospitalized in Talas, her condition worsened, and she was transferred to the capital. M.T. spent a month in intensive care and then received treatment in the burn unit of the city clinical emergency hospital until December 18.
After contacting the police again on February 5, 2026, the victim reported that her husband D.Z., born in 1995, was once again threatening and beating her.
