Police officers in Moscow have been detained for assisting illegal migrants, as reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction in the capital.

The decision to detain three out of five police officers was made by the Cheryomushki District Court of Moscow. These law enforcement officials are accused of receiving bribes for organizing illegal migration.

The investigation suggests that from January 2023 to October 2025, a group of seven people, including five police officers, operated in the Southwestern Administrative Okrug. For money, they organized the illegal relocation of more than 2,000 foreigners, providing them with fake student visas.

From February to July of last year, the accomplices removed at least 1,500 migrants from the registry of controlled individuals, who then received forged documents with false information about the host party. This allowed them to legalize their stay in the country. The head of the migration department received a separate bribe for expediting the process of issuing a Russian passport.

According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, "it has also been established that no later than December 2025, an inspector of the migration department and a police district officer ensured the unhindered passage of one of the educational organizations through verification procedures to confirm the fact of education of foreign citizens for monetary compensation."
