At a hearing held on March 8, the judge chose to impose a preventive measure in the form of arrest, and now Azhiev will remain in the pre-trial detention center (SIZO-1) in Bishkek for up to two months as part of the investigation.
Azhiev's story began with his arrest in June 2023 when he was accused of organizing webcam studios. He was arrested in Uzbekistan while attempting to leave for the UAE. Additionally, he was approached by E. A., who reported extortion. According to him, Azhiev worked as an operator and became a victim of psychological pressure from an administrator who demanded $2,000, threatening him with violence.
The investigation also established that Azhiev's property, including apartments, houses, and cars worth 262 million soms, was seized and is subject to confiscation in favor of the state. As a result, the court sentenced him to nine years in prison.
On February 18 of this year, the president pardoned Azhiev. However, on March 6, he was detained again in Tokmok.
