The arrest occurred as a result of operational work by law enforcement agencies.
A resident of Bishkek, Z.S., approached the First May District Department of Internal Affairs requesting protection from A.I., who was threatening her and her husband. Employees of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs confirmed receipt of the complaint.
According to the case materials, A.I., upon learning of the detention of Z.S.'s husband by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), began to threaten to file a complaint against him. He blackmailed the woman, claiming that the consequences of his actions could worsen her husband's situation.
While extorting 50 thousand dollars, A.I. promised to cease his actions and not file a complaint.
As a result, a criminal case was initiated under Article 208 "extortion" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During operational activities, A.I., born in 1971, was caught red-handed while receiving 30 thousand dollars from Z.S.
At the moment, the suspect is in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs.
