Human Rights Defender, Activist, and Operator Delivered to the Bishkek City Police Department

Today, March 13, employees of law enforcement agencies informed the editorial office of Kaktus.media that human rights defender Tolekan Ismailova, activist Bermet Borukejeva, and operator Bulat Satarkulov were detained at the Bishkek City Police Department. According to information received from the police, the activists attempted to hold a rally near the building of the Pervomaisky District Administration, despite an existing ban established by law.

It has become known that the detainees will soon be released after an explanatory session regarding the court-imposed ban on holding rallies.

According to the Bishkek City Police Department, on March 12, during monitoring of social media, employees of the service for countering extremism and illegal migration discovered Tolekan Ismailova's account, where materials and posts supporting one side of an armed conflict abroad were published.

Under these publications, users left numerous negative comments and critical remarks.

In addition, T. I. (born in 1954), B. B. (born in 1988), and B. S. (born in 1971) were also brought to the Bishkek City Police Department for clarification of circumstances. After the necessary documents are processed, they will be released.

It is known that a rally titled "Freedom to Peaceful Assemblies of Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic" was planned near the building of the Pervomaisky District Administration.

Thus, an attempt to hold an unauthorized rally was prevented.

We remind you that the court has established that the designated place for peaceful assemblies in the area is Maxim Gorky Park, where citizens can hold events, provided they notify in accordance with the law.
