An illegal cattle drive was intercepted on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border
On the section of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, an attempt to illegally drive cattle was stopped, as reported by the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.

The incident occurred in the Batken region, near the village of Kara-Bak, in the area of the Korgoncho locality. The border patrol noticed three unknown individuals attempting to drive three heads of cattle outside of official border crossing points.

Border service officers promptly responded to the situation and seized the cattle. However, the violators attempted to flee the scene. As a result of the chase, one of them was apprehended — a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, S.U.K., born in 2010, in the Mazar area.

Currently, law enforcement agencies continue the search for the other two participants in the incident.

The detained individual and the seized cattle were taken to the unit of the State Border Service for an official investigation and the preparation of the necessary procedural documents.

The Border Service emphasized that violations of border regulations and attempts to illegally transport animals and goods across the border entail responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
