At 5:30 PM on March 13, 2026, a statement was received at the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Ata District from A.A., born in 1988. This was reported by the press service of the regional police department.
In his statement, he indicated that on the same day in the city of Kant, his sister Ch.Z., born in 1990, was kidnapped. Her ex-husband Ch.S., born in 1990, forced her to get into her own Honda Fit car and took her away, after which she stopped communicating.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 165 "Kidnapping" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The investigation established that around 9:00 AM on the same day, Ch.S. forcibly made his ex-wife Ch.Z. get into her car and took her to a mountainous area.
At the location, near graves, he threatened her with murder and demanded $40,000. Throughout the day, he continued to torment her until 9:00 PM.
As a result of operational-search activities, Ch.S. was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
