Kumarbek Abdyrov became known after the brutal murder of 17-year-old Aysuluu.
Kumarbek Abdyrov, suspected of committing a series of attacks, including the murder of 17-year-old Aysuluu M., was found dead in a pre-trial detention center. This information was provided by sources from law enforcement agencies to Vesti.kg.
Preliminary data suggests that Abdyrov committed suicide.
The State Penitentiary Service (GPS) is currently refraining from commenting on this incident.
Recall that Aysuluu M. went missing on September 27 of last year in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. On that day, she left her home in the village of Barskoon to visit her friend in Jenishevo.
It later became clear that surveillance cameras captured the moment when the girl got into a Honda Stream car.
The investigation suggests that the suspect took the girl to an apple orchard, where he assaulted her and then killed her. To cover up the crime, he attempted to dispose of the evidence and transported the body to the Boom Gorge.
Abdyrov was detained in Bishkek. He had previous convictions for robbery and attempted murder.
After his arrest, he confessed to the murders of several women, as reported by the president's press secretary Dairbek Orunbekov on his social media, accompanied by a report from ElTR.
According to the investigation, he may be involved in at least six attacks, four of which resulted in murder. Law enforcement agencies do not rule out that the number of victims may be higher.
The investigation of the criminal cases is ongoing.
