In Bishkek, a man subjected his ex-wife to physical violence for several years. Despite the woman contacting law enforcement five times, the measures taken were generally only administrative. However, after another incident of violence, the man was finally arrested, as reported by the Lenin District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital. On February 11, 2026, M. E., born in 1992, once again filed a complaint about the need to take action against her ex-husband. She reported that he came to her home, used foul language, and applied physical force by twisting her arms.

Since the divorce in August 2020, such incidents of violence from the ex-husband became regular occurrences.

During the investigation, it was revealed that in 2025-2026, M. E. repeatedly contacted the police with complaints. Based on these facts, administrative measures were applied against the detained individual, but the violence continued.

As a result, a criminal case was initiated under Article 138 "Torture" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect, A. A., born in 1989, was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs.
