According to the victim, 31-year-old I.A., her husband, 38-year-old I.E. from the village of Kairma-Aryk, had been subjecting her to physical and psychological violence for a long time. He repeatedly beat and humiliated her without cause. In March 2025, after another beating, the woman sought medical help but did not tell the doctors how she sustained her injuries. Three months later, after another act of violence, her husband beat her again and attempted to strangle her.
In the summer, I.A. decided to get a divorce and moved in with her parents along with her children. On November 20, she filed for divorce in court. However, according to the woman, I.E. continued to threaten her over the phone, insult her, and spread video recordings that harmed her reputation.
According to the results of the forensic medical examination, the victim had injuries categorized as "not causing significant harm to health."
Currently, the police have initiated a criminal case under Article 131, Part 1 "Domestic Violence" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.
The suspect has been interrogated and detained.
