A man has been detained in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, on suspicion of committing acts of domestic violence.
According to information provided by the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District, on January 27, 2026, a woman named M.D. reported to law enforcement. She stated that for a long time her husband had subjected her to both physical and psychological abuse.
The department emphasized that protective orders had previously been issued against the man for similar violations; however, despite this, he continued to commit unlawful acts, according to investigation data.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under part 3 of Article 138 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning "Torture." The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
