"I Am the Colonel's Wife": A Road Conflict Occurred at the Checkpoint in Tash-Moynok

The conflict at the checkpoint escalated into aggression and a traffic accident

The road incident occurred at the checkpoint in the village of Tash-Moynok, located in the Chuy region. One of the participants reported the incident through social media in her post.

"Last night, around 8:30 PM, my sister came to pick up her three small children from our mother’s (mother-in-law’s) house. She lives in the village of Tash-Moynok, where there is a military unit with a checkpoint that always checks documents. As usual, she passed through the checkpoint, picked up the children, and was about to leave.

At the checkpoint, she had the right of way, but at that moment, a Lexus car drove into the checkpoint, with a middle-aged woman behind the wheel. My sister yielded to her and pulled up to the edge of the checkpoint. Soon, this woman got out of the car and began to aggressively yell at my sister, demanding that she immediately yield the road to her, claiming that she was the wife of a colonel from the ground forces military unit.

My sister tried to explain: "My window doesn’t roll down, but I thought I could get through while you were being checked at the checkpoint." She recognized this woman since she had met her at weddings. "Hey, do you remember me? We’ve met at weddings," she said.

However, in response, the woman sharply asked: "Who are you for me to know you? Get out of the car!" Then she forcibly pulled my sister out. The children inside began to cry from fear and screaming. My sister was in shock, as the woman was much larger and stronger than her. The crying of the children only heightened her panic.

The rival took off her headscarf, grabbed her by the hair, and ordered the soldiers to hold her. At that moment, my sister was only thinking about her children, who continued to panic in the car.

The soldiers did not let her go, and she, gathering her strength, managed to break free to calm the children down. In a state of stress, she got behind the wheel, not noticing how hard she pressed the gas, and hit the aggressive woman's car. When she tried to move forward, the pedal got stuck, and her car stopped on a small cliff.

My sister tried to get the children out, but the soldiers grabbed her again. She begged them to let her go to get her children.

Meanwhile, the woman ordered the soldiers not to let her go until she brought her colonel husband. The soldiers just watched as the children screamed for help, while my sister desperately pleaded with them to let her go so she could get the children.

The car began to emit a burning smell.

Later, two of the woman’s friends approached her and began to insult and humiliate my sister. Where is their human compassion? They were only concerned about their car, ignoring the fact that the children were inside, almost at the edge, in a car that could catch fire.

My sister and the children were in a terrible state. This woman later filed a complaint against her. She had a dashcam, but the footage did not capture how she attacked my sister and how the soldiers held her. The video only shows my sister hitting her car in reverse.

Now my sister is shaking from the stress she experienced, and the children did not sleep all night, having gone through serious shock. Fortunately, they are all right. But do people in our country still exist who use their positions for aggression? We are all equal before God," she wrote.

The editorial team emphasizes that this is just one version of events and is ready to provide an opportunity for the other side to present their point of view.
