Ernest Karybekov, an energy specialist, supported the position of Deputy Prime Minister Kamchybek Tashiev in an interview with IA "Kabar," stating that Kyrgyzstan can avoid rolling blackouts this winter season. Karybekov noted that a key step was the disconnection of mining farms from the power supply. "These enterprises operate in the interests of their owners, not the state," he added, emphasizing that such measures will significantly help in getting through the autumn-winter period.

“The complete shutdown of mining is the right decision. Tashiev himself influenced this. Although the energy system will lose some revenue, it is more important now to provide the population, social institutions, hospitals, and schools with the necessary electricity and heat,” the expert explained.

According to Tashiev, if the population conserves resources, the country will be able to get through the winter period without rolling blackouts. Currently, we do not have reserves for generating additional capacities, but there should be enough for basic needs if we save. “If we use resources wisely, we can avoid emergencies and serious blackouts during the winter period. The situation is not critical, but it requires careful attention,” Karybekov concluded.
