Kyrgyzstan and China Announce Competition for 10 Joint Scientific Projects

The joint statement of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China regarding the competition for the year 2026 is the result of the protocol signed at the meeting of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Commission on Scientific and Technological Cooperation on July 18, 2025.

The competition covers nine key areas, including: modern technologies in agriculture, innovations in transportation, advanced manufacturing methods, biomedical research, the use of science to combat poverty, the development of a green economy, environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage, and seismology.

As a result, 10 projects will be selected, each of which must be implemented within a maximum of three years with a minimum budget of 1.5 million yuan.

To apply, both the Kyrgyz and Chinese sides must prepare documents in a unified format. Applications are accepted in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English. During the implementation of the projects, teams will need to complete research, publish two scientific papers, and send at least two staff members for experience exchange to a partner organization.

The deadline for submitting applications is December 16, 2025.
