In the administrative center of the Jumgal district of the Naryn region, in the village of Chayek, the activities of four private coal storage facilities located on the pasture lands of the autodrome have been completed.

According to information from the prosecutor's office, these storage facilities were closed by order of the supervisory authority.

Turmush previously reported that a meeting of delegates from the People's Kurultai took place in Chayek, where issues related to pastures and ecology were discussed. More than 40 delegates from various settlements elected a working group and a chairperson to prepare for the Kurultai, which will be held in Bishkek.
During the meeting, participants listened to a report from the local administration and discussed proposals for amending the charter. The main topic of discussion was the private coal storage facilities located in close proximity to the district center. Local residents expressed their concerns about air pollution and pasture degradation. They noted that the area has become "the second Kara-Keche," as trucks carrying coal pass through the village streets daily.

Villager Alma Abakirova shared that coal dust settles on the pastures, negatively affecting the health of both people and livestock. Fridon Moldookeev added that the lands are no longer suitable for grazing and are often leased to private individuals for a nominal fee. Residents strongly demanded the closure of private coal storage facilities and called for holding their owners accountable for violations of environmental standards. According to them, some entrepreneurs are illegally using these lands, evading taxes, and selling coal at inflated prices.
