The head of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, has instructed to restore the fountain built in 1956, which was completely destroyed in Dubovy Park. This order was announced during a phone conversation, fragments of which were published by journalist Semetem Amanbekov.

“Gather all the parts, if they are still intact. We will restore it if it’s not completely broken,” the mayor noted.

It is known that this historical fountain was demolished by municipal employees last weekend. Furthermore, shortly before the mayor's demands, officials presented a concept for a new fountain to the media, which was planned to be installed at the site of the destroyed one. Surviving elements of the old structure were handed over for storage to the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk".

Local residents emphasize that this is not the first time the mayor has changed his decisions after the start of demolition work. Earlier, Junushaliev promised to preserve the mosaic "Meeting of Guests" on Aitmatov Avenue, but this promise was not fulfilled — the panel was dismantled despite statements about its preservation.
