The mayor announced an investigation into speculation
At a meeting in Bishkek, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev reported that prices for funeral services in the city exceed the approved tariffs by 2-3 times.
He noted that the rates for burial have been increased despite the existence of previously established pricing.
“An investigation is currently underway regarding these facts. To improve the situation in the future, necessary changes will be made to the 'My City' app so that residents can be informed,” he added.
Earlier, the municipality provided information on the current tariffs for burial services:
- for Muslims – 15,994 soms,
- for Christians – 13,582 soms.
Land for burial is provided to citizens free of charge.
